School Council

Ramsay School Parent Association - We Still Need a Vice President and Secretary to Join the Board
This is a friendly reminder to sign up for the Ramsay School Parent Association. Last week, we had a parent stepping up to take on the President role, thank you! However, we are still looking for a Vice president and a Secretary!
Our school has a one of a kind opportunity to be able to run the Stampede Parking event every year, and we have had so many parents put in countless hours over the years to make this happen. We need two more parents to take on the torch of leadership for the Parent Association so we can continue providing our kids with the amazing resources and activities that they have enjoyed so far.

Volunteer Clearances
Parents and guardians will be able to register to volunteer online in the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. Members of the community without a child in the system can also create a SchoolEngage account.
Once volunteers have created an account, they can complete the Annual Volunteer Registration form and submit to school. This must be completed each year. (By completing the form, the volunteer agrees to abide by the conditions that protect the safety, confidentiality and working environment of schools. The volunteer also makes a signed declaration with regard to criminal charges. These forms stay on file at the school during the current school year.)
Schools will continue to follow the process for generating e-Pic letters for volunteers who want to apply in person at Calgary Police Service Westwinds Campus. All other volunteers will receive an email from policesolutions with a link to follow to complete their clearance application form and redeem the voucher for payment. When volunteers have their clearance document (PIC VS), it can also be uploaded and shared directly with the school through the SchoolEngage account. Schools and volunteers can see their application status and if more information is required by the school to complete the process to volunteer.

Ramsay School T-shirts and Hoodies
Ramsay students have a strong sense of belonging within the school community. Our amazing School Council and Parent Association support this by providing all of our NEW to Ramsay School students and staff with a Ramsay School T-Shirt. We encourage students to wear them with pride on field trips and special events!
If your child has outgrown their t-shirt or you would like to upgrade to a hoodie, now is your chance! Ramsay School T-shirts and hoodies are available to purchase for a short time, from October 1 until November 28, 2025 through your MyCBE account, just add the item to your cart. Unfortunately, size options are not available online so please email our office your requested size after you have completed your purchase. - Sorry we are not able to accept late orders
A bulk order with our vendor will be placed and you will be notified when your order is ready for pick up.
Online Forms
Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians / independent students are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. For families who have not yet completed these annual forms, please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, Sept. 15. These forms are required every year for Alberta Education to confirm student funding.
- Demographic Verification - 2025-26 – This required form is an Alberta Education requirement as proof of Registration for funding purposes and includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.
- Citizenship Information Update - 2025-26 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.
- Annual Authorization - 2025-26 – Combines the following forms:
- School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.
- Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.
- Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties
SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, register to volunteer etc.
If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE Account. For online help, refer to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).
To complete these forms:
- sign in to your MyCBE account
- click on the SchoolEngage icon
- select the form
- complete or review and update the form
- click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school
- repeat steps 3-5 for each form
Absence / Lates
If your child is going to be absent or late please call the office before school begins at 403-777-6790 to let us know. This will help us ensure all students are safe and that their attendance record will be accurate.
1. Press 1, and leave your message on the Attendance Line
2. Please let us know your child’s first and last name, teacher; and the reason for the absence.
Illness & Medical
Student medical forms must be completed for any student whose physical or medical information will affect attendance or if medication must be taken at school. If your child requires a medical form, please complete one and return it to the office in person or email it to tlpeterson@cbe.ab.ca. Link to Student Medical Forms
Transportation
Yellow school bus riders (registration done every school year)
If your child will be taking the yellow school bus (fee for service) and you have not registered yet, please ensure you do this right away as you cannot ride the bus until you are registered and the paperwork is processed. (this can take up to 3 weeks) Please register through your My CBE Account. For more information about transportation, please see https://cbe.ab.ca/schools/busing-and-transportation/Pages/default.aspx
If you have registered for the school bus but your child is not riding home on the school bus please let the office know as we do take attendance each day.

Lunch Supervision Registration
If your child will be staying at the school during the lunch hour, you will need to register for Lunch supervision. You can register and pay using your MyCBE/Powerschool account. Lunch supervision registration and fees will be posted to your account after September 2025.
Just a friendly reminder that students will need to bring their own spoons & forks with their snack and lunch as we have a limited supply to give out. Students DO NOT have access to hot water or microwaves.
