Key Updates:

Absence / Lates

If your child is going to be absent or late please call the office before school begins at 403-777-6790 to let us know. This will help us ensure all students are safe and that their attendance record will be accurate. 

1.    Press 1, and leave your message on the Attendance Line

2.    Please let us know your child’s first and last name, teacher; and the reason for the absence.

If you email your child's teacher regarding an absence, please cc the school office (ramsay@cbe.ab.ca) to ensure that everyone is aware.

Terry Fox Run

 Our annual Terry Fox Run will take place on Thursday, September 17. We will be running around the upper field beginning at 10:30 am and going until 11 am. Families are welcome to meet us on the field to run with their children.

We will be collecting Twonies for Terry, with all donations going to the Terry Fox Foundation.

Open House / Meet the Teacher

We would like to invite families to our September Open House on Thursday, September 24, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

This will be a time to visit the school with your child to see their classroom and meet their teacher. This will be an open house, and classrooms will not have formal presentations. Please visit us between 5 and 6:30 pm.

Orange Shirt Day

Wearing orange on Orange Shirt Day honours Survivors of residential schools, remembers the children who never returned home, and acknowledges the lasting impacts of residential schools on families and communities. The orange shirt is a symbol of the culture, language, identity, and freedom that were taken from Indigenous children, and a reminder that Every Child Matters.​

Please join us on Tuesday, September 29 as we wear Orange to honour this day.

School Council Meeting - October 1

Mark your calendars!  Our first School Council meeting for the school year will be on October 1 at 6:30 pm. All parents are welcome to join us! 

Registration & Forms

Online Forms – Due by September 14, 2026

 Please complete the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child ASAP.  These forms are mandatory every year for Alberta Education and Childcare to confirm student funding.

 SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account used to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, register to volunteer etc.

 If you do not have a MyCBE account, click Create a MyCBE Account on the MyCBE page. For online help, refer to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).

 To complete these forms:

 1. sign in to your MyCBE account

2. click on the SchoolEngage icon

3. select the form

4. complete or review and update the form

5. click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school

6. repeat steps 3-5 for each form

 School Volunteers - Reminder

To ensure the safety and security of all CBE students and staff, all volunteers must be registered with the school each school year before participating in volunteer activities. This can be done by completing a digital Annual Volunteer Registration Form.

 The digital Annual Volunteer Registration Form is valid for the current school year only. All volunteers, including returning volunteers, must complete a new registration form each school year before participating in volunteer activities.

 Parents and guardians can access the digital form through the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. Please Note: This must be your own account with your own email.

 New this year! community members without a child in the system should be directed to the school where they wish to volunteer to complete their registration in person, via hard copy.

Lunch Supervision Registration

If your child will be staying at the school during the lunch hour, you will need to register for Lunch supervision. You can register and pay using your MyCBE/Powerschool account. Lunch supervision registration and fees will be posted to your account after September 2026.

Just a friendly reminder that students will need to bring their own spoons & forks with their snack and lunch as we only have a limited supply. Students DO NOT have access to hot water or microwaves.

Healthy Hunger - Fun Lunch/Fun Snack

Fun Lunch:

·         available to Grades 1-6 students (no Kindergarten orders)

• delivered to classrooms at the beginning of the eating portion of lunch

Fun Snack:

• available to all students (K-6)
• delivered to classrooms in the morning to be handed out by teachers
• Students can enjoy their snack in the morning or take it home

• Order cut-off 5 days before lunch/snack day (late orders are not accepted)

Ramsay School T-shirts and Hoodies

Ramsay students have a strong sense of belonging within the school community. Our amazing School Council and Parent Association support this by providing all of our NEW to Ramsay School students and staff with a Ramsay School T-Shirt. We encourage students to wear them with pride on field trips and special events!

If your child has outgrown their t-shirt or you would like to upgrade to a hoodie, now is your chance! Ramsay School T-shirts and Hoodies are available to purchase for a short time, September 14 - October 31, 2026 through your MyCBE account, just add the item to your cart. Unfortunately, size options are not available online so please email our office with your requested size after you have completed your purchase. - Sorry we are not able to accept late orders.

A bulk order with our vendor will be placed and you will be notified when your order is ready for pick up.
