Outdoor Clothing and Shoes

After a wonderful month of September weather, we are experiencing Fall conditions. Please ensure that all students have the following each day at school:

• Indoor Shoes – To keep learning spaces clean, all students need to change their shoes after entering the school.
• Warm Outerwear – Please ensure that your child arrives at school with warm clothing to go outside.

 

Inclement Weather

 

Students will be going outside for recess and lunch in most conditions (this includes light rain). CBE Guidelines recommend that students remain inside only when the temperature reaches -20 Celsius or colder. A rain coat and appropriate outdoor footwear should be worn in rainy conditions. We are unable to provide separate indoor supervision for students not dressed for the weather or who are ill. If students are too sick to bundle up and go outside then they should not be at school. Winter Coats and Boots

Winter is fast approaching and with that comes winter coats, boots, hats, mitts, scarves, etc. But what if your child has outgrown these items since last year and funds are just not there to buy new? No worries, Jacket Racket and Boots for Kids are organizations that work with Calgary Public Schools to provide gently used winter attire to children to help keep them warm throughout the winter season. Please contact the school office and let us know if your child is in need of a winter coat and /or boots.

 

Christmas Hampers

It's soon that time of year where families may find that they are in need of extra support through the holidays.  We do not know your situations but if you are in need of some extra support this year, we can help you. Please let the school office know, as we are in contact with organisations that work to provide hampers containing food and Christmas gifts to help families in our area for the holiday season

 

Ramsay School T-shirts / Hoodies available for purchase until Nov 24, 2023

 

Ramsay students have a strong sense of belonging within the school community. Our amazing School Council and Association support this by providing all of our NEW to Ramsay School students and staff with a Ramsay School T-Shirt. We encourage students to wear them with pride on field trips and special events!

If your child has outgrown their t-shirt or you would like to upgrade to a hoodie, now is your chance! Ramsay School T-shirts and hoodies are available to purchase for a short time, from September 22, 2023 until November 24, 2023 through your MyCBE account, just add the item to your cart. Unfortunately, size options are not available online so please email our office your requested size after you have completed your purchase. - Sorry we are not able to accept late orders

We will submit a bulk order with our vendor and you will be notified when your order is ready for pick up.

Please look to your child’s teacher for upcoming volunteer opportunities and ensure that you have a valid Security Clearance and a completed current year Annual Volunteer Registration form on file with the school office.

 

Absence / Lates

If your child is going to be absent or late please call the office before school begins at 403-777-6790 to let us know. This will help us ensure all students are safe and that their attendance record will be accurate. Once you have reached the office:

1.    Press 1, and leave your message on the Attendance Line

2.    Please let us know your child’s first and last name, teacher; and the reason for the absence.
