Reminder: Student Learning Conferences November 23 – 24, 2023

Conferences are an opportunity for parents and guardians to speak to teachers about their child’s current achievement and progress, along with programming information.

Grade 1-6:

November 23 - 4:00 – 7:30 pm

November 24 - 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.

Kindergarten:

November 23 - 8:30 – 11:30 am - 12:30 – 3:00 pm and 4:00 – 730 pm

November 24 - 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.

The online booking system opened on Thursday, November 16 at 7:00 am and will close at 2:00 pm on November 23.

When booking conferences, please select online OR in person option. Online Conferences will be through MS TEAMS, In Person Conferences will be at the school.

All conferences are required to be booked through your MyCBE account. Please make sure you book you conferences before 2:00 pm on November 23, Should you require assistance in booking please call Mrs. Calhoun in our main office 403-777-6790 ex. 0

Alien In-Line Skating Residency:

Thank you to our School Council and Parent Association for funding the upcoming Alien In-Line Skating Residency.

Alien In-Line will be here from November 27 – December 6 to instruct inline skating fundamentals to our students in grades K – 6. All equipment that is needed will be supplied through Alien Inline. Volunteers may be needed to help students, especially in the younger grade by putting on and taking off equipment. Please look to your child’s teacher if you are able to support during this residency. Your help is greatly appreciated. Because risks are involved with any physical activity and especially when learning a new skill such as In-line skating, all students will require to have a Risk Acknowledgment Form returned and completed before they will be permitted to participate in this activity. Forms will be sent home with your child(ren), it is imperative that this form is completed and returned before November 27, 2023.

Ramsay School T-shirts / Hoodies - Orders End Nov. 24, 2023

Ramsay students have a strong sense of belonging within the school community. Our amazing School Council and Association support this by providing all of our NEW to Ramsay School students and staff with a Ramsay School T-Shirt. We encourage students to wear them with pride on field trips and special events!

If your child has outgrown their t-shirt or you would like to upgrade to a hoodie, now is your chance! Ramsay School T-shirts and hoodies are available to purchase for a short time, from September 22, 2023 until November 24, 2023 through your MyCBE account, just add the item to your cart. Unfortunately, size options are not available online so please email our office your requested size after you have completed your purchase. - Sorry we are not able to accept late orders

Inclement Weather

Students will be going outside for recess and lunch in most conditions (this includes light rain). CBE Guidelines recommend that students remain inside only when the temperature reaches -20 Celsius or colder. A rain coat and appropriate outdoor footwear should be worn in rainy conditions. We are unable to provide separate indoor supervision for students not dressed for the weather or who are ill. If students are too sick to bundle up and go outside then they should not be at school. Absence / Lates

If your child is going to be absent or late please call the office before school begins at 403-777-6790 to let us know. This will help us ensure all students are safe and that their attendance record will be accurate. Once you have reached the office:

1. Press 1, and leave your message on the Attendance Line

2. Please let us know your child’s first and last name, teacher; and the reason for the absence.
