We have many opportunities through the school year.
Currently our Ramsay School Parent Association is looking for executive members to join their team.
Without a full executive committee, we will unfortunately lose our ability to fundraise for the school—funding that provides vital resources and programs for our children.
The total commitment is quite small, requiring only a few hours of your time each month. Your involvement can make a massive difference in ensuring our school continues to thrive.

Casino Fundraiser
Ramsay School has been assigned November 13 and 14, 2026 (Friday and Saturday) by the Alberta Gaming Commission (AGLC) for our Ramsay School Casino Fundraiser at Cowboys Casino.
In previous years, this fundraiser has generated over $70,000 for our school. These funds help support school events, programs, and our playground replacement project.
To make this event a success, we need to fill 66 volunteer shifts over the two days. We kindly ask that each family volunteer for one to two shifts per child whenever possible.

Ramsay School Classroom / Field Trip Volunteers
Please make sure you have a valid Police Security Check prior to notifying your child's teacher that you are available to volunteer either in the classroom or on up coming school Field Trips.
Volunteer Security Clearance Process
Step 1: Prospective volunteers must first register with the school where you plan to volunteer. This should be done through MyCBE by clicking on the Online Forms and School Registration tab and completing the annual Volunteer Registration form. You can also submit an application through the school office.
Community members who do not have a child registered with the CBE must complete their volunteer registration in person at the school where they wish to volunteer, rather than through the MyCBE website.
School administrators will verify your identity and register you in the CBE volunteer database. You will receive an email from Calgary Police Services containing a link to complete your Police Information Check application and redeem the voucher for payment.
Please note, prospective volunteers must reside in Canada for a full year before registering. Police clearances from countries other than Canada are not accepted.
Step 2: Visit the CPS online system, electronic Police Information Check (e-PIC), to obtain your police check using the link provided in the email received from Calgary Police Services.
Volunteers should wait to submit their request until they receive an email from Calgary Police Service – Record Check inviting them to apply for their Police Information Check with VS for Volunteer. This will ensure the voucher is ready to be redeemed by the volunteer.
Voucher costs are covered for online applications only. If a volunteer applies to Calgary Police Service in-person with the e-Pic letter given to them from their school, the $21.25 application fee will apply. An e-PIC letter is provided by the school only for walk-in applications and is not required for the online application process.
If a volunteer submits their own payment, there is no option for a refund. There is no refund option for volunteers who have previously submitted applications.
If you are unable to complete the process online, you may visit a police information check location instead.
Step 3: Once you receive your clearance document from CPS you will need to share it with the school. This can be done through School Engage, in-person or by email.
Annual Volunteer Registration
Each school year, you must complete the CBE volunteer registration form. By completing the form, you agree to abide by the conditions that protect the safety, confidentiality and working environment of CBE schools. You also make a signed declaration with regard to criminal charges.
